7th Dress

Good evening once again, Mayfield!  It is I, Rarity.  I've heard quite a bit of excitement surrounding this 'Homecoming' event that you all seem to be planning, and since there seems to be a formal dance involved, I would like to remind everypo... ahem, everyone - that I am available at any time for custom commissions for dresses and other formalwear.  It simply would not do to hold such a grand and gala event without the attendees shining as brightly as they can, after all.  So if there are any of you out there who are dissatisfied with the bland and boring fashion choices Mayfield's shops have to offer, you need look no further than Carousel Boutique, Mayfield branch.  I am located at 836 Hastings Boulevard, so please feel free to stop by at your leisure to get measured for an outfit that's certain to turn heads as you enter the Homecoming dance next weekend.  Prices are negotiable, and I'm certain you'll find my rates quite reasonable.  I look forward to seeing you all!  Just ask for Rarity.

Cheers!

You don't mind if I design the outfit and you make them, do you?! [YEAH SHE IS VERY PRECISE IN THESE THINGS....]

If there's something specific you have in mind, I can certainly work with existing designs.

Good! That's great! I'll be right over, then!

The door is unlocked, so please come right in. I'll just be finishing up a few things in the back, so follow the sound of the sewing machine if you would.

[You know what? Why not. When you don't have anything else, you at least have looking fabulous, and though he doesn't give a damn about the homecoming dance he is rather interested in the idea of Mayfield having actual high-end fashion. The question is, can she actually match him?

Of course he does have to dress up (http://i56.tinypic.com/9htl5z.gif) if he's going to go shopping, but flash and makeup aren't quite enough to hide how tired he is. Hopefully it won't be noticed.

Comiiing~! I'll be right there!

[After a few moments, the door swings open, revealing this fashionable little unicorn. She's not dressed up at the moment, but Dist would presumably appreciate the obvious daily effort Rarity puts into keeping her coat and mane flawlessly groomed. And of course, she lights right up at his own choice of fashion.]

Oh my, what a dashing coat! Is it your own design?

[And after that little outburst of fashion squee, she closes her eyes and politely bows her head briefly.]

Ah, how rude of me not to start with introductions. I am Rarity. Please, do come in!

[Stepping aside and gesturing with a hoof~]

[identity profile] buildstherobots.livejournal.com 2011-10-06 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dist simply blinks for a moment, rather taken off-guard by the voice belonging to a tiny horse(though an adorable and perfectly coiffed one).]

Oh, I was expecting a person.

[He doesn't seem to quite realize that the statement might be considered rude, but he shakes off the surprise rather quickly. There are far stranger things here in Mayfield, and she complimented him, so he can't help but preen as he steps inside.]

My name is Dist. I admit I'm not at all interested in Homecoming, but I heard you on the phones and had to come see what you can do. Obviously you have a good eye; I do like to design my own clothes, though I have my personal tailor make them for me. Or I did, back home. I have a less formal version that I wear more often, but it's been abused horribly lately and I wouldn't dream of wearing it to meet a fellow designer.

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Rarity's used enough to that by now that she simply laughs it off as she leads Dist back into her bedroom-slash-sewing-studio.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Dist. If you'd like to take a look at some of the things I'm working on for other customers, do feel free. If you find my work acceptable, I'd certainly love to work together with you on some new designs.

I'm curious about this Homecoming. What are the details? I can't say I've been all too active picking up calls lately - but I may fancy some tayloring...

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid I'm not one hundred percent clear on all the details, but I do know it involves a formal dance. Of course, I'm certainly available for general requests as well if there's something else you had in mind.

I cannot particularly express in words how relieved I am to finally encounter an individual who appreciates the aesthetics of one's own appearance. It is a rarity indeed among my kind.

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
True appreciation for high class style can be quite hard to find. It's sad, really. That's why I've made it my mission to bring fashion to the entire world!

It is difficult to conceive a worthier cause.

Well, other than ending strife or poverty or hunger or saving the world, I suppose. Those would be worthier.

[He had already promised to stop by sometime, and though Homecoming doesn't mean anything to Yosuke, he is tired of having nothing but his school uniform for casual wear. He's not in the market for high fashion, just something that looks awesome. So why not give Rarity a shot?]

[Knock knock knock! Here comes your second customer of the day, Rarity]

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[And here comes a pony to meet you at the front door, Yosuke.]

Greetings! Another customer, I presume?
princeofjunes: (startled)

I've been waiting for this ♥♥♥

[personal profile] princeofjunes 2011-10-08 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
[As far as Yosuke's concerned, in Mayfield he's seen it all. His girlfriend's brain is connected to a supercomputer. He's had a young girl come over and casually disassemble his car. His teenage daughter is a singing robot with a steamroller. He's made monsters fight in combat for sport - after one of them got pissed at him for calling it a dog. He's seen a boy make a spear out of dirt and he himself summons a demon from his head]

[All of this]

[And he's STILL momentarily speechless at meeting a talking pony - no, a talking unicorn]

[Unicorns are real. And they can talk. And somehow make designer clothes]

[He finally recovers enough to talk, though he still looks a little stunned]

Uh... yeah! Right!

We talked a few weeks ago? I don't have any designs in mind or anything, but I wanted to see what sort of things you can do. I'm Yosuke.

Rarity, I could probably use a dress. I'm not very good with Aesthetics, but I like blue. I can trust your expertise to make something acceptable, right?

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Of course! Leave it all up to me. Nothing to worry about!

[identity profile] hontobakabaka.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent. Just let me know when a good time to come for measurements would be.

Hey, I have a few outfits I need someone make for me.

Think you can put them together if I give you pictures and my measurements?

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, is this for that Halloween festival that's coming up at the end of the month? Pinkie Pie was telling me about it the other day. It sounds fun!

[identity profile] inthenertz.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they're costumes I want. Think you can make spandex costumes?

I'll... drop off my measurements too.

Y'think you could fix me up a nice dress? [ Why, yes, it's completely normal for a teenage boy to ask for a dress. ]

[identity profile] frilly-filly.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... I'm sure I could, but don't male humans typically wear suits instead?

[identity profile] mathisradical.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's for my girlfriend. A surprise for Homecomin'.
