Good evening once again, Mayfield!  It is I, Rarity.  I've heard quite a bit of excitement surrounding this 'Homecoming' event that you all seem to be planning, and since there seems to be a formal dance involved, I would like to remind everypo... ahem, everyone - that I am available at any time for custom commissions for dresses and other formalwear.  It simply would not do to hold such a grand and gala event without the attendees shining as brightly as they can, after all.  So if there are any of you out there who are dissatisfied with the bland and boring fashion choices Mayfield's shops have to offer, you need look no further than Carousel Boutique, Mayfield branch.  I am located at 836 Hastings Boulevard, so please feel free to stop by at your leisure to get measured for an outfit that's certain to turn heads as you enter the Homecoming dance next weekend.  Prices are negotiable, and I'm certain you'll find my rates quite reasonable.  I look forward to seeing you all!  Just ask for Rarity.

Cheers!

[You know what? Why not. When you don't have anything else, you at least have looking fabulous, and though he doesn't give a damn about the homecoming dance he is rather interested in the idea of Mayfield having actual high-end fashion. The question is, can she actually match him?

Of course he does have to dress up (http://i56.tinypic.com/9htl5z.gif) if he's going to go shopping, but flash and makeup aren't quite enough to hide how tired he is. Hopefully it won't be noticed.

Comiiing~! I'll be right there!

[After a few moments, the door swings open, revealing this fashionable little unicorn. She's not dressed up at the moment, but Dist would presumably appreciate the obvious daily effort Rarity puts into keeping her coat and mane flawlessly groomed. And of course, she lights right up at his own choice of fashion.]

Oh my, what a dashing coat! Is it your own design?

[And after that little outburst of fashion squee, she closes her eyes and politely bows her head briefly.]

Ah, how rude of me not to start with introductions. I am Rarity. Please, do come in!

[Stepping aside and gesturing with a hoof~]

[Dist simply blinks for a moment, rather taken off-guard by the voice belonging to a tiny horse(though an adorable and perfectly coiffed one).]

Oh, I was expecting a person.

[He doesn't seem to quite realize that the statement might be considered rude, but he shakes off the surprise rather quickly. There are far stranger things here in Mayfield, and she complimented him, so he can't help but preen as he steps inside.]

My name is Dist. I admit I'm not at all interested in Homecoming, but I heard you on the phones and had to come see what you can do. Obviously you have a good eye; I do like to design my own clothes, though I have my personal tailor make them for me. Or I did, back home. I have a less formal version that I wear more often, but it's been abused horribly lately and I wouldn't dream of wearing it to meet a fellow designer.

[Rarity's used enough to that by now that she simply laughs it off as she leads Dist back into her bedroom-slash-sewing-studio.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Dist. If you'd like to take a look at some of the things I'm working on for other customers, do feel free. If you find my work acceptable, I'd certainly love to work together with you on some new designs.

[Naturally the house is virtually identical to his own on the inside, which is actually rather depressing. It lifts when he heads into her studio and looks over her unfinished designs, though.]

Oh, these are lovely. Do you often do work on people?

Actually, I'd only ever done designs for other ponies before coming to Mayfield. It was a bit of an adjustment, but I think I've got the hang of things now.

Yes, if things are going to fit properly a change in technique would be necessary. I didn't even know ponies wore clothes.

[Granted, they don't have ponies on Auldrant, but the basic idea is the same. Animals don't sew. Well, typically.]

We don't normally, but now and again it's nice to get dressed up for a fancy occasion.
